Warm Up Your White Kitchen
White Kitchen Hack #1: Greenery
Want this budget-friendly look?
One of the easiest ways to warm up your white kitchen is with greenery or florals. If you know me, you know I am not a huge plant person. I just know I would not be able to keep them alive for longer than a week.
That’s why I opt-in for faux greenery or dried florals. Specifically for the spring/summertime, faux greenery can brighten up your space and make your kitchen feel super homey and warm.
The ones pictured above are Green Wisteria Stems from Zulily. They look super realistic, especially for faux greenery, and I absolutely love the way they droop over the edge of the vase. There are three stems total that give just the right amount of “fullness” without having to spend too much money!
White Kitchen Hack #2: Wood
Want this budget-friendly look?
The second way you can warm up your all-white kitchen is with woods. Wooden items can add warm colors as well as different textures to your space.
There are so many different types of wooden kitchen items you can buy from utensils to cutting boards, to decor. The possibilities are endless and it’s the perfect way to balance out white marble, white cabinets, or silver hardware.
There are also different shades and types of wood that can add more depth and variety to your kitchen. For example, the wooden utensils pictured above are a lighter shade of wood, while the stool is a bit darker and more rustic with cracks.
One final plus with this kitchen hack is that a lot of these wooden kitchen items can be extremely practical as well! My favorite budgeting tip is using practical items as decor, especially in the kitchen. We’re all about functionality here (along with aesthetic looks of course 😉).
White Kitchen Hack #3: Photos & Prints
Want this budget-friendly look?
One of the best ways to decorate plain kitchen countertops is by creating little vignettes. It breaks your kitchen up into small little sections and creates visual interest.
From personal experience, I find that 2-3 items for each vignette works the best and is the most pleasing to the eye (I try to do 3 most of the time if I can). It allows you to create a little moment without filling your kitchen countertops with a bunch of clutter.
With these vignettes, you can incorporate different decor items to warm up your sterile, white kitchen. One decor item that will definitely add character is a framed photograph! This allows you to bring in some color if you’d like, along with a personal element that will definitely turn your apartment into a home ❤️.
In the example above, I have a sunset photo. This is really the only color I have in my apartment as I love neutral decor. I think it’s subtle however, still does the job!! Plus it holds a lot of sentimental value to me and I think that is what actually brings warmth into a space (all about the vibe here 😎).
If photos aren’t your thing, you can add seasonal prints instead! Another way to personalize the space and possibly add in some color. I’ve created some super aesthetic spring prints that you can download here for FREE.

White Kitchen Hack #4: Textures
Want this budget-friendly look?
TEXTURE. TEXTURE. TEXTURE.
This is a must when it comes to how to make an all-white kitchen feel warm. The items you place throughout your kitchen and within your vignettes should all have different textures.
Texture can mean smooth, rigid, wood, stone, ceramic, etc. What you want to go for is contrasting textures next to each other. For example, in the photo above, we have a flat/smooth gold frame paired with a rigid/detailed black frame. Small difference, but it’s all about the details people!!
Even in the other photos throughout this blog post, there are moments of contrasting textures when it comes to items being placed next to each other (i.e. the stone mortar & pestle on top of the wooden riser).
White Kitchen Hack #5: Fruits & Grains
Want this budget-friendly look?
Last but not least, I am a firm believer that your food can be used as decor for your kitchen. There is something about fruits and grains that totally gives off a European villa vibe (or is that just me lol).
Not only is this aesthetic and will totally add that warmth and character to your space, but it’s so practical too! And there is nothing worse than an impractical kitchen.
In the photo above, I have my grains (oatmeal, rice, and split pea) displayed in clear OXO Containers. Grains add that little bit of “color” without straying away from the neutral color scheme. The different shapes of the OXO containers also add depth and visual interest.
Next to my containers, I have my Crockpot, another extremely practical element. The thing with practicality is that it’s also super budget-friendly. When you’re buying your foods or appliances, think of it as a 2-in-1 deal. You can use it for cooking and decor!
I also love fruits displayed on kitchen countertops. Similar to plants, I am not the best when it comes to fresh fruits. I tend to buy too many and then they just go bad. So I opt-in for fake fruits, as pictured earlier in this post with my fake limes. Although fresh would be ideal, fake is just more convenient and easy for me (and they look pretty real to me)!
